our philosophy
- originality
a truly independent journal with no political affiliations,
ipnosis is able to carry controversial, leading edge or unfashionable opinions
and those which dare to challenge the status quo.
- encouraging client views
the understanding of therapeutic practice rests upon our ability to listen to the experiences of
clients and to work with them to find better ways forward. ipnosis is the only journal (to our knowledge) to include a regular section dedicated
to the voices of clients.
- accessibility
ipnosis aims to break the academic stranglehold over counselling and psychotherapy publishing by encouraging
"non-scholarly" work. We believe that the ideas people have are far more important
than how they express them. It also seems important
that as many people as possible find our articles and features easy to read and
digest.
- entertainment
journals should be enjoyable and stimulating as
well as informative. ipnosis includes a generous helping of humour and lightheartedness in every issue.
- interactivity
ipnosis offers exercises and challenges to readers which we hope will be engaging, enjoyable and conducive to personal
growth.
